Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I am an international student from Nigeria who came to the U.S. for college. I attended West Virginia State University where I got a bachelor’s in chemistry before attending The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. I always had a passion for drug information which was reinforced during my final year rotations in pharmacy school.

Do you have a fellowship project? What is it about?

For my fellowship project, I am working on a review article on medications used to treat glaucoma and how they may affect the control of patients’ comorbidities. My goal is to have my review article published.

What factors did you consider when choosing a fellowship program?

I focused on fellowships that would help me grow, and provide me with the experiences and skills to achieve my career goal of becoming a highly skilled drug information pharmacist that contributes to the practice of evidence-based medicine.

Why did you choose InpharmD’s Fellowship?

The InpharmD fellowship offers a very supportive environment for fellows to develop their drug information skills and help in their journey to achieve their career goals. During my interview, every team member I met genuinely loved what they did and I wanted that for myself. I wanted to work in such a positive environment.

What does a day in the life of an InpharmD Fellow look like?

At InpharmD, the team works together to answer inquiries received from healthcare providers. After a question is submitted on the platform, the team conducts research to find information in literature. Information from the literature is curated and summarized to answer the question being asked. Final responses are formulated from all relevant data and are sent off after comprehensive reviews. Fellows also participate in journal club discussions, topic discussions, inquiry defenses, and teaching engagements.

Any advice for future fellows and applicants?

Always have a learning attitude and don’t be afraid to respectfully ask questions and voice your opinions. That will be the best way to grow. Everyone on the team is willing to contribute to your growth and genuinely wants you to be the best version of yourself.

And lastly, tell us a fun fact!

I love traveling and my dream vacation, which I hope to achieve someday, is to go on a month-long trip to Europe where I end up visiting different cities in different countries.
